Paris
Tour Rating 4.2
Description
Mont St. Michel, or “The Wonder of the West”, is one of France’s top attractions and the most popular destination in Normandy. Our day-trip transports you to this UNESCO World Heritage Site on a comfortable coach ride from Paris, taking in the landscapes of Normandy along the way. As you approach this unique island, you’ll catch your first glimpse of its famous 10th-century gothic abbey. You’ll have four hours to lunch and explore at your leisure, with your multi-language audio guide if option selected. Wander through the village and its steep streets, visit the abbey with its medieval architecture, hunt out picture-postcard views across the Atlantic, and watch as the tide rises around the island. Don’t forget to taste local, seasonal products in the traditional décor of one of the many eateries. The island is yours to enjoy at your own pace, before you return to Paris by coach.

Great visit - poor service

The ride and the visite to Mont Saint Michel was exceptionnal, however when we got to the site two unpleasant things happended. Upon our departure from Paris, whe were handed identification stickers that clearly identified our departure time as 4:45 pm however the bus driver and tour guide insisted that we leave at 4:15 and we had to be back to the bus between 3:45 and 4pm effectively cutting 1 hour from our allready limited time to visite the site. To make things worst, on the day of our visit, the Mont Saint Michel site was used for a national marathon, this disrupted the shuttle service from the parking area to the entrance of Mont Saint Michel, shuttles ran only every 30 minutes instead of every 10 minutes. Putting even more stress on our visit time and reducing it even more. It is sad that the marathon information was not know ahead of time, we would probably have chossen an alternative date for our visit.
Mont St Michel in a day

A 9 hour bus ride to Mont St Michel What a fantastic part of France . The Abbey is beautiful and full of history. We thoroughly enjoyed walking around the Abbey and surrounds . The bus trip was terrible , how do you travel for 9 hours ( return ) on a bus that has no working toilets . 1/ Bus - No working toilets 2/ Bus - USB ports did not work on the bus . 3/ Audio was not supplied because the head sets did not fit anyone’s phones . 4/ Bus stop on the way back to Paris was simply not good enough , truck stop had no proper food only potato chips and chocolates. It was 7.30 at night and people were hungry . 5/ I really don’t know what the guide did ? Total waste of time being on the bus . 6/ Audio from the guide microphone did not work upstairs on the bus , so everyone missed him speaking .
A must see

This was the most incredible monument I’ve seen. It was a walk back in time. We took a tour out of Paris and the bus ride was 4 hours each way which was exhausting. We had a tour guide for English speakers and her accent was so strong she was impossible to understand.
Wonderful Abbey. Agility & fitness to explore fully. Range of merchandise & refreshments available (close 15:30).
