Raphael was a good guide as he knew his history and explained well in English calmly as we drove. Was a beautiful commemorative location for the thousands of soldiers we lost at Omaha Beach. Would have loved to spend more time downstairs in the Omaha museum and had time for the movie. Our guide did say save 45 minute but I wish he had specifically said go downstairs see the movie and the exhibit downstairs which I did not get to experience… and then go out to to graveyard and memorials outside. Also would have liked a more dramatic explanation of the climbing of the cliffs by our young solders as I was in tears while watching a documentary about this… where as I was not that moved by his brief explanation about what the soldiers went through. Also I was very nervous with his fast driving and weaving . He did slow down when I asked him to but I ended up sitting in back seat instead of front seat and then I was able to relax.
Disappointing

Having our pick up point totally screwed up leaving us alone in the dark at 6.30 in the morning. The "rest" stop: 20-30 mins to go to bathroom where lines stretched out the door (imagine being a woman!) and then waiting in another line to buy lousy food to eat. Other than that, cemetery was very moving.
Great and very worthwhile trip!!

Connecting the sites to the history is compelling. Fabrice (apologies if that’s not the correct spelling for his name) was a great guide. I wish there had been a bit more time at the museum because there is so much there, but would not want to cut back on the time spent at the other sites.
