Versailles Domain Bike Tour With Palace And Trianon Estate Access

Absolutely fabulous day, bike tour to Versailles. Our guide Antoine was an absolute delight and we had a perfect day. We could have skipped the Chateau of Versailles because we had that much fun prior to going into the palace. With that being said, the palace is indescribable and really one of a kind. I would gladly book with Blue Fox again and try any of their tours.

We had the best time riding bikes in Versailles! Highly recommend for anyone looking to go to Versailles for the first time. We met the tour in Paris and took the train in. Our tour guide then walked us through a market and helped us get the lay of the land before we went back through to get supplies for our picnic. Super helpful and made the experience less daunting. The rest of the day was a mix of pedaling through the bucolic grounds of Versailles and stopping at different locations to tour them. We did the Trianon and then returned the bikes before we hit the main Palace. This is where our guide left us and we did the palace on our own. This was nice because we did it at our own pace and didn't feel rushed through or at the mercy of what others wanted to see. Definitely recommend the Rick Steves (free) audio tour for this part. Shout out to Guigui our tour guide who really put the day over the top. He knew a ton about Versailles and the history and was just a great guy to talk to about anything. Glad we got to spend the day with him. Recommend this tour for anyone who wants to see Versailles but might be overwhelmed about where to start. Ride a bike and enjoy the day!

Our Versailles bike tour with Arnold from Blue Fox Travel was nothing short of wonderful! Arnold was incredibly personable and truly enjoyed being a tour guide, making the entire experience pleasant from start to finish. Our first stop in the village of Versailles was the market. Arnold guided us through the stalls, helping us select the freshest and most delicious items for our picnic. His recommendations were spot-on, and we ended up with a delightful assortment of local treats. Exploring the gardens of Marie Antoinette’s Petit Trianon and hamlet was a particular highlight. They were so beautiful and relaxing, much preferred to the palace of Versailles. The bike ride through Versailles was both relaxing and informative. Arnold shared fascinating historical insights and anecdotes, making the journey through the beautiful gardens and grounds even more enriching. The picnic itself was a perfect moment, surrounded by the stunning scenery of Versailles. The tour was very well-prepared; Blue Fox provides waterproof double pannier bags to fit your market purchases, rain ponchos for the bike ride in case of rain, and the tour guides carry corkscrews, knives, and paper cups for the picnic. Arnold was also able to fix bike chains if needed—nothing happened that he couldn’t handle! I also suggest heeding the guide’s warning about the hill up to the Trianon; the couple in their 80s had a really tough time trying to power through on the bikes and probably should have just walked them up the hill. Our mid-October tour group was just one group of 6 people, which was very relaxing and enjoyable. In the height of their summer tours Arnold said it gets a little crazy with as many as 5 groups of 14 each. I am inspired to come back to the village of Versailles to stay for a day or two and rent a bike to ride around more of the grounds. Overall, Arnold's expertise and friendly demeanor made this tour an unforgettable experience. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide, and we highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore Versailles in a unique and delightful way. Thank you, Arnold, for a fantastic day!

Arnould was a wonderful guide! He made us feel safe and shared the history of Versailles with much knowledge and humor. The day had quite a bit of rain but ponchos were provided and we didn’t have big crowds to contend with. We were given ample time to explore on our own as well. This is not a strenuous bike ride, however there is some tricky walking (large uneven cobblestone etc.) Would absolutely recommend!

From the meeting point to the end of the day with Antoine and our group, the trip was excellent. We biked 8 miles in the rain and we loved every minute of it!! Versailles is beautiful and seeing it on bike was a great way to experience it with kids.
